How to prep your animal for the taxidermist.

Euro mount we did for a customer to start off the 2023-24 season.

After you harvest your deer, or any other game for that matter and it's time to start thinking about getting your animal to the taxidermist here are a few helpful tips that will make things run smoother for your taxidermist. This post is specifically focusing on euro mounts.

  • The sooner you can get your animal to the taxidermist the better. This is for a few reasons. For starters, it will help prevent as many grease stains on the skull as possible. Secondly, it will help with less decay and bugs, your taxidermist will thank you for that one.

  •   If you can’t get your animal to the taxidermist right away stick it in the freezer until you can.

  • Make sure your tag or license information is still attached to the animal when you drop it off.

  • It is always appreciated when you deliver your animal that the head is cut off and placed in a garbage bag.

  • Handle your trophy with care. You don’t want to damage your trophy before it even gets to the taxidermist.

As always if you ever have any questions feel free to reach out we would be happy to help you out.

Best of luck for the rest of the season,

BWA Tyler Millichap
